OEKO-TEX®
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is a health label for textiles required by Santino. Products with the OEKO-TEX label have been scientifically tested for the presence of harmful substances and are a better and safer choice for your health. Compliance with the requirements is constantly monitored in laboratories and through company audits. Watching over the social, ecological and chemical impact of production. Because Santino is OEKO-Tex standard 100 certified, it thereby simultaneously complies with REACH, SVHC and POP regulations. Santino has a company policy that all suppliers who supply products to us are OEKO-Tex standard 100 certified. Every year, this certificate has to be renewed and once in a while Santino is audited. Only if all our suppliers have the OEKO-TEX certificate can we get it too. No link should be missing. We carefully monitor that all our suppliers have a valid certificate and notify them in good time if a certificate is about to expire. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is a testing and certification system for textiles. The standard focuses on limiting the use of harmful substances in relation to end-user health. So while the label focuses on health aspects of the textile product, the guidelines on the use of harmful substances also touch on the ecological dimension of sustainability.
GOTS
GOTS is a globally recognised certification for organic textile production. This certificate guarantees that our clothes are made from organically grown cotton fibres and that each step in the production process meets strict environmental standards and social criteria. GOTS certification assures you that the clothes you wear are not only sustainable, but also produced in an ethically responsible manner. This means no harmful chemicals or pesticides have been used, fair working conditions are maintained and the impact on the environment has been kept as low as possible. When you choose GOTS-certified clothing, you choose a product that is good for you, for the people who make it and for the planet. You wear clothes that have been produced responsibly with respect for people and the environment.
GRS
GRS is an internationally recognised standard certification that ensures the traceability of recycled materials in textiles. The certificate guarantees that our clothes are made from at least 50% recycled materials and that the entire production process meets strict environmental standards and social criteria. GRS certification ensures that the clothes you wear contribute to the circular economy. Using recycled materials reduces waste and conserves natural resources, helping to reduce environmental impact.
RCS
The Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) is an international certification that verifies the use and origin of recycled materials in textiles. Products carrying an RCS label contain at least 5% recycled material and are audited by an independent body to ensure full traceability. With RCS-certified clothing, you can be confident that recycled raw materials are truly being reused. This contributes to waste reduction, the conservation of natural resources, and a more circular textile industry.
OCS
The Organic Content Standard (OCS) is a globally recognized certification that verifies the percentage and origin of organic fibers in products. To qualify for an OCS label, an item must contain at least 5% organic fibers, with the entire process — from cultivation to the final product — independently verified. With OCS-certified clothing, you can be sure that the organic fibers in your garments are genuinely organic and fully traceable throughout the supply chain. This supports more responsible material sourcing that respects both nature and the environment.
